Hi - I am evaluating Cx Mac for a couple of Win applications I need and I am having trouble accessing my NAS device which contains all my working files.
I have gone to Manage Bottles > Control panel > Winecfg and there is a facility there for adding devices. Under the advanced section there is an option for Network Device but I can get it to work nor any settings to stick.
I am looking for the equivalent of Windows \server\share either direct or mapped to a drive letter. I know I can go to Z:/Volumes/share but that requires that the NAS sahre is first opened in OS X Finder which is manual and more than tedious.
Unfortunately the Z:\Volumes\share way is the only way to open a share. CrossOver does not know how to do the network share access, that's out of its scope, since Samba is the software built for that. This means you have to open the share on OSX(which uses samba for this job), then the Windows app can use the regular OSX+Samba services to access it like every other Mac app.
OK, thanks Stefan. I will have to find a way to automate the mounts so that the ones I need are always available - Apple-script?
