Hello people,
I just bought Crossover Mac to run an old Windows executable (PCMolecule). It works well, so that saves me installing Windoze, many thanks to Codeweavers for their product.
One thing that is cumbersome is opening documents. The File -> Open menu option works as it should, but navigating through the small Windows file browser window is a pest. The Crossover Mac page says "Clicking a Windows file or document — including email attachments — will launch the appropriate Windows program, allowing you to work on the files.". All my files for PCMolecule have the .mcm (it started life as MacMolecule) file name extension. Is there any way to make Crossover understand that .mcm files should be opened in PCMolecule? I couldn't find this in the preferences or settings dialog windows.
Another solution would be to drag and drop the documents onto the PCMolecule alias in my dock. Unfortunately, drag and drop doesn't work. PCMolecule is an old program, I'm not even sure d&d worked for it in Windows. Is d&d capability determined by the app or the OS (I'm running PCMolecule through a Win98 bottle)? Any chance that could be made to work?
Any other suggestions are welcome too of course.
Thanks.
greets,
Peter
