Hello there. Im a new user, just made the switch from Windows to Linux and need it to run Eve Online. I have done everything right as far as I am aware, but, I have a whole host of problems that make the game unplayable.
First, I cant run with shadows or HDR. Second, if I alt tab out, the screen goes black when I alt tab back into the game and I have to alt tab back out and close down the whole game. I cant run in a window, the sound stops and starts seemingly at random and I havent even undocked from a station yet.
Its unplayable as it is...how is it Silver in this state?
this is not an answer to our problem regarding sound, just a confirmation.
since the dominion upgrade, i've lost all sounds. before then it was just the jukebox that didn't work.
winecfg in crossover using ALSA (or any of the other options) brings up an error dialog 'sound test failed'.
i've had no response from anyone in the linux forum in eve regarding a solution.
someone did post that ccp changed something in dominion that broke the sound but there were no follow up comments.
