Since installing CrossOver Games 9.0, I receive the following message when opening the Wine Configuration window and trying to navigate to the Audio tab (on OS X 10.6.3):
"The program winecfg.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I did not ever encounter this particular error with prior versions of CrossOver Games.

or, to sum it up, wine version > 1.1.35 (empirically tested) has some conflict with osx 10.6.3
