I noticed that when I'm hardwired via Ethernet, my download speeds are much slower on Steam (when downloading games). It gets capped to ~90 Mbps compared to ~600 Mbps using just Wi-Fi. Anyone else having this issue or know a fix?

If this seems to be a crossover only issue, I wonder if its due to the way your interface card is represented in wine maybe the "simulated" windows version doesn't support gigabit ethernet? (speculation). You should raise a support ticket with them.

However if you find this the case generally then this is likely because your ethernet interface is rated at "10/100" (ie. hard capped at 100Mbit/sec download)
whereas your wifi card can handle "gigabit" (1000Mbps) speeds to your router.

If your convinced your ethernet is gigabit compatible then you might want to google about checking your settings
.. You might also want to check that your router and any intermediary devices (hubs/switches) are also gigabit compatible.

If it is the case your ethernet is only 10/100 and you can't upgrade your mac's ethernet card (likely the case for most modern macs), then your only option is to use wifi if you want speeds higher than 100.

FWIW i have this exact issue with my AppleTV. I only get ~100Mbps when wired but when using wifi i get my full bandwidth.
