I'm running ubuntu 10.04 64bit with CrossOver Games 9.0.1 64bit and I'm trying to run the demo of half life 2 through steam. When I run half life 2 the screen switches upside down.
My graphics chip is a not so powerful:
Integrated Intel® GMA 4500 MHD
Is there a way to fix this problem?

Umm...I'm a little confused here as you mention "CrossOver Games 9.0.1" when crossover-games is only up to version 9.0 .... is that just an ooops on your part? (because I doubt it's run in CXO-9.0.1) I think you may be right about the videocard being the culprit -- you might try adding steam launch options to lower the graphics requirements the game is asking for...ie; probably something like the following would be worth a try;
-dxlevel 80 -sw -w 1024 -h 768 -novid
..but it may not help due to your GMA IGP video chipset...
