Reducing CPUs used for Crossover and older non-multi-core games?

Hello,
Is there a way to use Crossover or the internals of Wine to reduce the number of CPUs or even GPU usuage—frame rate?—for Crossover itself, via Wine (tricks) or any other method?

Some games from the mid-to-late 2000s could not use more than one core, and, used in a native Windows environment, are known to abuse the GPUs of newer computers such that frame rate limiting apps should be employed in order to save from overheating.

Anyone have some guidance or ideas about this?

I'm using the latest Crossover on a Intel i9 Macbook Pro 16" with the AMD Radeon Pro 5500m 8GB GPU, and when I use Crossover to play a game originally from 2008, the temps of the cores hover at around 88–91°C with fans at like 85% capacity (system use), or hover at 82–84°C using TG Pro app for fan monitoring.
