IE7 redirect problem

Hi everyone,

Just getting to grips with IE7 through crossover and I've noticed that whenever a page contains code to do an automatic redirect, I get a browser error coming up.

It is says -

ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While trying to retrieve the URL: page_viewer.asp?page=Home&pid=1

The following error was encountered:

Invalid URL
Some aspect of the requested URL is incorrect. Possible problems:

Missing or incorrect access protocol (should be `http://'' or similar)
Missing hostname
Illegal double-escape in the URL-Path
Illegal character in hostname; underscores are not allowed

I think this is because the redirect on these webpages just contains the page name and not an http:// prefix and it's throwing a 302 code to the browser.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this?

Thanks,
Tom

This could be an IE7-in-Crossover bug. Would you care to provide an example of a page where you're seeing this problem? Also, have you tried installing and using IE6 under Crossover to see if the same error occurs?

Hi Jack,

Thank you for the reply. An example of a website where I have experienced this problem is - http://www.deferrers.com/ - this website seems to re-direct from the top level domain to a web page address and it is at this point that I receive the error above.

Just installed IE6 and it is working fine in that browser.

Thanks,
Tom

Hm, I guess this would seem to a be an IE7-specific bug.

I just tested the www.deferrers.com page on IE7 using a newer, more experimental build of Crossover and it redirected successfully. I'll email you with more info on how to download an install such a build to see if it helps you, too.
