Hi, i was starting to test one of my advocated Apps but i noticed that Half-Life 2 itself and Dark messiah Of Might and Magic start with a black screen. I can ear the audio, the game is running but i don't see anything even in window mode.

I don't know if the problem is Crossover Games 7.2 or my dual monitor setup since i received my Mac Pro in these days and this is my first try of HL2 games on this setup.

I confirm neither HL1 works now, so it is dual monitor that drives Crossover crazy.

Try running the game in windowed mode, right click on the game in Steam, and in the properties of it, add the command line option: -window

We have a dual monitor Mac Pro here, and it used to work fine, but I can have someone take a look at it again.

I finally tracked down the source of this bug. It will be fixed with the next release of CrossOver and CrossOver Games.

Just to be clear, the problem is that full-screen mode doesn't work properly if your primary display (the one with the menu bar) is not the top-left-most display. You can work around the problem by either virtually rearranging your displays using the Displays pane of System Preferences, or by changing which is primary by dragging the menu bar in that same preference pane.

I was excited when I got the new Mac Crossover Games today. I hoped for a fix for dual monitors, but it still doesn't work. And setting it to be windowed makes the games really slow (not all of them, but some). Any ETA on the fix?

I can confirm that if you're using dual monitors under Mac, that you need to ensure that your main display (the one you're wanting to play your game on) needs to be the top-left most monitor. This means if you have your arrangement so that your 2nd monitor is above the first or to the left of it (you move your mouse past the top of your main screen or past the left edge) to access your next monitor, HL2 and other games will not work properly. So long as your main screen is left-most (put the extra monitor to the right or below in arrangement) you'll be fine for the most part.

In my case, I've just resorted to running in windowed mode and disconnecting my 2nd monitor and having the mac detect displays again to remove it, simply because I hate having the mouse run off the screen and having to try and get focus back in my game :/

Sorry for the miscue. The recent releases of CrossOver and CrossOver Games were not the ones we had planned, or the ones I had talked about. These were emergency fixes for a sudden situation that could render CrossOver unusable for a small group of our users. These releases fixed exactly that one thing and are otherwise identical to their immediately preceding releases.

I should have said that the next release which bumps at least the 'y' in an x.y.z version number will include the fix. A bump in 'z' is usually a minor bugfix.

The timing of the next significant release of CrossOver Games, one which will include the fix, is still up in the air a bit. I think we're planning/hoping for late June.
