I'm running a software and it says it can't connect to the network. So I ran Internet Explorer that's bundled with Crossover and all I get is a blank screen with a title bar saying "Wine Internet Explorer" and scroll bar on the right that doesn't scroll. Nothing in the main area, but when I right click in it I get a menu Back, Forward, etc.
It should inherit your system settings for that. I'd start looking at the usual suspects, proxy, firewall, etc.
