Okay, so I bought and installed a game, but when I try to run it, I get: "Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version. File "CRYPT32.dll", function CertFindChainInStore (error 126)" I found the CRYPT32.DLL file for download, so I guess my question is whether I can try to fix this error like I would if I was working on an actual PC? Is it possible to troubleshoot the system in this manner??
It's just a little strategy game called Tradewinds Odyssey I bought from Sandlot Games. I'm starting to get the impression that I'm out-of-luck with Crossover, since the games I like to play aren't popular enough for Codeweavers to worry about compatability. Which is unfortunate, since I imagine it's a lot less complicated to make a simple game like this compatible than a huge first-person shooter.
You can try to put the DLL file into the \windows\system32 folder and see if that helps.
On a Mac you Configure->Manage Bottles->Select your bottle->Advanced->Open C: Drive in Finder
Then navigate to the \windows\system32 folder and put your file in there.
There are unfortunately tons of games out there and everyone has their own favorites which makes it hard to support some games and hit a majority unlike Windows apps where most people use the same mainstream apps.
Unfortunately, I don't see an entry for it in C4 or the WineHQ database so there aren't any available hints. Its possible someone knows of the game even without the entries though. I'd say post your problems and maybe people can help anyway.
You will also need to specify a library override for crypt32.dll using
winecfg for this to work (there is a builtin crypt32.dll.so winelib,
so you have to set a library override crypt32.dll = native,built)
Cheers!
