Adobe Photoshop Elements 8

About two years ago, I downloaded Crossover onto my iMac so that I could run the PAF - a personal ancestry file which I use to organize and store family genealogy information. I don't care for the few genealogy programs made for the mac, and transferring data on well over 8k people would be tedious, to say the least. Crossover doesn't support the PAF, but even with all the quirks I have to deal with, at least the program runs well enough to keep using it.

Fastfw. to Christmas morning when I sat before my mac, attempting to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 for the mac.

For some reason, Crossover keeps popping up, as if the Elements 8 program is Windows based. We've already taken the disc back to Apple to see if it was improperly marked, and we ruled all that out. Popping the cd into one of their macs, and it was ready for install. Here, Crossover stops me each and every time.

Why is this happening and what do I do to stop Crossover from appearing?

Please help!!

Thanks in advance,
Kim

What happens if you set Crossover to ignore the CD/DVD?

Preferences->System Integration->Tick "Ignore CD and DVD insertion"?

Does that let MAC OS X see the CD/DVD correctly?

CrossOver may pop-up and offer to install Windows software that appears to be on the CD, but it should not interfere with any other use of the CD.

Just tell the CrossOver CD Helper to go away (the Ignore button) and proceed as if it never came up.

(abeta's suggestion of disabling the CD helper entirely works, too.)
