Hi.

I'm attempting to install MasterCAM X4 demo in Crossover Mac 8.03 on my MacBook Pro, OSX.6.2

The install doesn't take. I could quote the Console report here, but I don't speak gibberish. :)

I was discussing this with a Linux user, who suggested that MasterCAM might require the .NET framework.

Okay, um... I see some of the Gamers are using it already.

How difficult is it to install .NET in a bottle? (And then of course install X4 in the same bottle, not the recommended procedure.)

Will Crossover Mac 9 include .NET by default?

,NET is already an install target in 8.0.3 under 'install service packs
and dependencies'...

Make sure you uncheck 'hide service pack and deps'...

Okay, I tried unchecking "hide service pack" and ran the install again.

It still didn't take.

I was expecting to see something different, but it all went nearly the same.

OOo...that's something else -- I'm not a Mac person, but I can see that
as perhaps being just part of initialization, and the real information
needed isn't there/hasn't been gathered...

I do take it when you say you unticked the 'hide service packs' switch,
you then manually installed what was needed?

The best way to generate a logfile of what's going on, is to read this;

Upload the log to some free public repo (like rapidshare or whatever),
post the URL to that file back here so others might grab it and have
a look at things.

I unchecked the "hide" option but I suspect that things didn't progress to the point of offering any optional installs.

I should probably install .Net manually.

It looks like MasterCAM X4 requires .NET 3.5? If so, it won't work today as Crossover doesn't support .NET 3.5 yet.
