Accesing installed programs..

I was wondering if it's possible to access the installed applications through my installed Bootcamp? I have MacDrive also so accessing the files on my mac HD isn't a problem...
Where would the files be located? I'm just hoping they retain their .exe file type so it's actually runnable? Sorry my post is so confusing it's very hard to word what I want here, or what i'm thinking..my mind is all over the place.

Basically, can I access installed applications

While technically you could try Program->Run Command and select your .exe file, I'm not sure it'd work.

When you install Bootcamp I think the default is NTFS which natively allows you to read, but not write to the partition. That just means you need to install something that allows you to read/write which isn't hard.

Then the next problem is most Windows programs will muck with the registry on installation, etc. and expect files to be in specific places, so it may or may not work even if you solve the first problem.

This is an interesting concept. I was able for instance to start the oblivion launcher but as indicated above that was it, as the settings for the game files are not present in the registry (since I did not use CO to install the game).
It will basically depend on the application you are trying to launch.

To answer your question; applications/binaries in Windows live usually in "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" in case you installed Vista 64 bit.

You could give it a try to just select the executable in the Programs/Run Command dialog (use the browse button). I named my Boot Camp partition "Windows" to make it easier to identify.

Please Note: This Forum is for non-application specific questions relating to installation/configuration of CrossOver. All application-specific posts to this Forum will be moved to their appropriate Compatibility Center Forum.
