I've downloaded CrossOver Mac 9.0.1, installed in no problem. I have a demo CD of the Win version of Kurzweil 3000 (I'm trying to figure out if this program, which is 'untested' in the CodeWeavers compatibility table) will actually work on a Mac. The demo CD has 3 exe files - I tried to run / install each of them with no joy. Some Windows-looking install dialogs with their stupid flying paper showed up, which I thought was a good sign, but I got an error msg 'Microsoft (R) .NET install did not complete' (not sure of the exact wording). I tried it each way I could think of but no go.
CrossOver has built-in knowledge of how to download Microsoft .Net. In the list of software packages, look under Runtime Support Components. Install one of those into the bottle to see if that helps it.
