Yet another LOTRO question

First off, forgive me if this is a repeat of past post. I'm sitting in the waiting room of a hospital...Day 3.... with only my mac book pro to keep me company. I'm trying to install and play LOTRO on my macbook using the codeweaver's cross over. I seem to be doing something wrong...obviously. I downloaded the standard rez from the website and it will not install into the windows 2k bottle i created. pylotro does fine..but not the darn lotro patcher client file thingie bob. My wife is coming up later on today, should I have her just bring me the disks for LOTRO SoM? Will that work. I have been reading your forums all night. I think I'm in the right frame of mind...lol no sleep..... to understand them. I have seen a ton of questions about where to download a current lotro client and something about pando screwing things up... Please help me as I would love to pass the time playing the game I love. I even purchased the parrells 5 thing and installed windows xp and LOTRO. it runs...it patches..but it is unstable...freezing after about 2 mins...EVERYTIME...FREEZE FREEZE FREEZE

p.s. the patient, my mom, is doing fine..

ok...not sure if i'm doing right.... since i was running the game on a virtual XP machine...i copied the files and moved them to the bottle folder..specifically c:/program files part of the bottle... then I pointed the PyLOTRO at the LOTRO file..and made some progress. The PyLotro loads up...i can pick the correct world...the language is correct...the right side of the screen shows the LOTRO recent news and everything.. the listed below the password field shows no problems...in fact it shows Initialising, please wait...
Available languages checked.
Fetched details from GLS data centre.
Realm list obtained.
World queue configuration read

but when i hit log on...i get a blank output screen?? Did is screw up by copying the file over...again...should I just load it from the discs???? I feel like I'm almost there.

First off, you need to be using CrossOver Games(CXG), not "plain" CrossOver (or CrossOver Pro). GXG is a separate download. Check "My account/My Downloads" on the main Codeweavers web site. (www.codeweavers.com)

I downloaded the standard rez from the website and it will not
install into the windows 2k bottle i created. pylotro does
fine..but not the darn lotro patcher client file thingie bob. My

Several things... First and most important... read the "Tips and Tricks" section of the LOTRO Forum:
http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=2869;tips=1

You CANNOT use the Turbine provided download to load LOTRO the Turbine Download Manger (Pando) is not compatible with CXG. S yes, have your wife bring the MoM/SoM disks.

first off...im very excited to know that this will work if i can just do things correctly. I only see two for download from this site. The regular for $39 and the pro for 69 bucks. I will buy that one of course if needed but i don't see the CXG thing. I have crossover games 9.0. But i dont see in my downloads anything about CXG????

by the way.. your help is very much appreciated..the second it works i'm buying the program.. this help isn't going to someone who just wants the trial and then leaves.

CXG is just shorthand notation for CrossOver Games.

BTW: The best place for LOTRO help is the Crossover LOTRO forum, not here in the general forum.

Finding it on Codeweavers is "fun"...

Go to www.codeweavers.com/compatibilityh

At the right of the page in the search box, type Lord of the Rings
You will get a list of 8 versions... The first two -- Turbine inc. are LOTRO.
App Id: 2869

The first link "Lord of the Rings Online" takes you to a summary page. This page links to the second link.
The second link"Lord of the Rings Online: Siege of Mirkwood" is the home page.

Note. The "Screenshot" is rotating... and can be confusing you to think you hit a different page than "last time."

At the top of the page are tabs for the "Forum" and "Tips and Tricks."
The tips and tricks are tagged Crossover Games 8.1.4, but are still accurate for 9.0.

At any rate... make certain to read the tips and tricks. They tend to cover about 90% of all problems and questions.

Please Note: This Forum is for non-application specific questions relating to installation/configuration of CrossOver. All application-specific posts to this Forum will be moved to their appropriate Compatibility Center Forum.
