So I've been trying to get the trial version of Office 2007 running. The problem is that when I open Excel, it gives me the "Microsoft Office Excel has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application." and then once I click OK it just shuts down the program and I'm back at square 1. Oddly enough Word works fine, however.
Just from googling it briefly I understand it boils down to some type of permissions problem. Unfortunately I really have no idea how to remedy the problem.
Hi Garrett
I have the ultimate version of Office 2007 and I am having the same problem. I have installed ok, and Word is working but when I try to open Excel, Outlook, Publisher... I get exactly what you got - ""Microsoft Office Excel has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application." and then once I click OK it just shuts down the program and I'm back at square 1"
You posted this a month ago.. have you managed to remedy the issue?
