Worst upgrade policy ever

Just so you know...

I hate the upgrade policy for Crossover. I have to buy an entirely new, no discount at all, license to go from version 9.0 to version 9.1?

And you wonder why people turn to Bit Torrent....

It's not the change in version numbers, it's the duration of your support period.

You got the upgrade from 8.0 to version 9.0 for no charge because it fell within your support period. The release of 9.1 came after your support period expired.

We're very clear and up-front about this: http://www.codeweavers.com/products/upgrade_policy/ and http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxmac/

Had our policy been based on version numbers, you probably wouldn't have been entitled to 9.0, let alone 9.1.

I personally like the upgrade policy. It makes sense. If the staff are ALWAYS available, they should ALWAYS be paid.

I don't mind the support policy being a year for free updates. But i think if you buy a previous version of the software you should be able to pay the next major version for a discount not full price.

Just my .02.

Even if its 10-25% off that's still something to keep people loyal.

And that's exactly what we offer for people who buy Pro. See the links I posted above.

Renewing Pro for another year is about 50% off.

Ah, I think you are the developer of this software, so can you please answer my question at:
http://www.codeweavers.com/support/forums/general/?t=27;msg=88548
about the software Lingoes, I can't use it. Thank you.

Hi,
Please do not cross-post, especially when your question is totally
off topic with regards to the discussion ensuing here (see just below
the 'Post Comment' button where The Fine Print says "Please try to keep
posts on topic" ?). Your original post has been answered -- cross posting
just confuses people and disrupts established threads.

Cheers!

edit: also see the note hereunder about what this forum is intended for...
...the 'Please Note:' message ;)

also, it never hurts to just ask for a discount. You never know until you try. if you don't get one, the support renewal is fair. if you don't like it no one is forcing you to buy this software.
