USB not working after installing Crossover

Hello people

Apologies for asking for help and starting a new thread but I am so stuck as I am pretty new to Mac and only installed Crossover to be able to help with some volunteering work. Basically Crossover is working fine but now my USB is not being recognised and I desperately need to be able to download photographs. Bear in mind I have very basic skills so would require an "idiots guide". Please point me in the right direction!

Hi,

First, if you have an issue that you need to get addressed, please open a support ticket. These forums are an informal, casual communication medium mostly among our users. Our staff do check in now and again, but not in any comprehensive or regular way.

Second, I'm afraid there's essentially no chance that CrossOver is responsible for your USB no longer working. CrossOver does not install any drivers or kernel-level code that could affect that. It doesn't interact directly with USB or hardware. It relies on Mac OS X to give it events from the keyboard and mouse, to deliver audio to USB speakers or headphones, or to read and write files on USB drives. None of those entail direct manipulation of the USB capabilities of your system on CrossOver's part.

My first recommendation is that you restart your Mac. Beyond that, you're going to have to consult a general Mac OS X support channel: a "genius" at an Apple store, the discussion forums at Apple's site, etc.

Sorry I don't have anything better to tell you.
