OK, first, I'm usually fairly savvy about finding my own answers. I've already searched the knowledge base, read the documentation, and searched the WINE forums about this. Everything that I've found is either so remedial that I've already tried it, or intended for Linux users:
I'm trying to run a game (Azgard Defense), and it's far too slow to be playable. I have two clues about fixing it.
1: A guy on winehq.org says, "Need video drivers supporting EXT_vertex_array_bgr extension. Works fine with nvidia 180.11 driver."
2: The log shows an entry, "fixme:d3d:swapchain_init Add OpenGL context recreation support to context_validate_onscreen_formats."
3: My CPU doesn't appear to be working really hard at running the game. It stays at about 30%.
I Googled both of those without luck. The odd thing is that the game runs great on an old P4 with an onboard Intel graphics chipset (read: crappy chipset), so certainly my new Macbook Pro with Nvidia GeForce 320M has any features that the old Intel chips did. I'm thinking that the problem has something to do with OpenGL. Still, everything I read about troubleshooting OpenGL on Macs is that you don't have to because Apple takes care of it for you with Voodoo and Black Magic. Apple also--apparently--takes care of my video drivers with magic, so it's not like I can go get that Nvidia 180.11 driver.
I've already installed DirectX and lots of the other support software, like msls31, Jet, OLE, etc.
What troubleshooting/tweaking do you folks recommend? Also: are does anyone know any tricks for making OpenGL games work on Crossover Games Mac?
