CX Version: 10.0.0-pro
Application: Crossover 10
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Hi Support
After Downloading an installing the new Version 10.0 and installation in the programfolder i started it.
Then the Menu shows up and i was asked to update the files. Till this all went OK. But then i wanted to start and test a programm from the programm menue. But after clicking there was none of my installed software in this menue. Then i tried to rebuild the programm menue, there was no real actiitiy to hear on the harddisk, but than the programmmenue disapered from the menue completly. I tried to start a program over File/Open, clicked on a programm that worked fine til now, but nothing is working. After a new start of Crossover the programmenue was there again but still empty.
Because i couldnt work with it, i took the old version 9.2 an all files from the backup back in place. This works again.
What is wrong with the new Version 10 of Crossover?
It seems that I have the same kind of issue.
I wanted to install crossover 10. I can't event create an empty bottle. When doing it, it enters a kind of infinite loop to have it created. (Or at least, it lasts fast longer than on Cross Over 8 I have tried after having installed / desinstalled Cross Over 10).
I may have the same issue--I'm not sure, since this is my first experience with the product. I installed Crossover and then installed IrfanView as a test case. But the Welcome to Crossover screen doesn't offer "Run Installed Software" (it's there, but grayed out), and there's nothing in the Programs menu.
Andrew gave me the tip to just delete the folder (your home folder)/Applications/Crossover. I installed CO 10 the second time to try his tip and force rebuild of the applicationsmenue. But it dos not work, the menueitem "Programs" disappers and nothing happens.
This version 10 of Crossover does not work on my machine. Point. I don't know why and i hope this can be fixed as soon as possible to get CO 10 works good again.

Any idea ?
Thanks,
OK, on my side, I was probably not patient enough.
Maybe something like building the font metrics the first time ?
But finally, after a while, I managed to have it working.
Throwing away the german "de.lproj" Folder "solved" the problem. But now all menus shows in english.
We have identified the cause of this bug. It is affecting some of our non-English Mac users and is due to an incomplete localization of CrossOver for their language.
We hope to have a fix released in the next couple of days. In the meantime, deleting the localized resources for your language, as mentioned, is a workaround (although far from ideal):
In the Finder, right-click or Control-click on the CrossOver application.
Select "Show Package Contents" from the context menu that comes up.
Navigate to Contents > Resources.
Identify the .lproj folder for your language. For example, "pt.lproj" for Brazilian Portuguese or "de.lproj" for German.
Either rename that folder (by adding "_disabled" to its name, for example) or just trash it.
There's now a 10.0.1 release for Mac which addresses the Programs
Menu problem. Current customers can get this build via the 'my
downloads' page.

I just downloaded 10.0.1 and creating a new bottle freezes the program, no amount of time waited will fix this. I have tried deleting the local language files... nothing works.
Is this a known bug?
