Pro Evolution Soccer 5 on OSX 10.6

Crashing before even a window is shown. I was hoping Pro Evolution Soccer 5 can work with Crossover Games, since it is not one of the newer games and only requires DX 8.1b, and a note in Wine 1.1.44 release notes, which mentions PES5 demo issues being fixed. Unfortunately, no luck so far... tried with both sound enabled and disabled.

I seem to get a little bit further with no sound. Here's the log (fragment):
