I recently tried to buy Crossover Games but something unexpected happened. I put all my information for the 2nd step and then when I was supposed to go for the 3rd step I got a message that said that there was an error with my card and that I apparently didn't have sufficient funds. I was baffled by this because I had more than enough funds on my card so I checked my account summary and noticed that I had been charged the 39.95$ for Crossover Games even though I did not get the application or anything of the sort. I already emailed store@codeweavers.com about the problem but so far I've had no answer.
It still says the order is pending on my account so I don't know if I should try and re-buy the application or just wait for things to sort out. I'm afraid that if I try to buy the application I will be charged once more more and will have payed twice as much than what I really needed to. Any help or advice on this problem would be Highly appreciated.
Going by your description, it would seem that the payment portal had some kind
of moment, resulting in the error you're seeing (this can happens for numerous
reasons, typically outside of Codeweaver's control..ie; network error/congestion)..
Considering that the demo versions of Crossover are the full versions (just time
limited), in this situation I would continue to use the demo version, and, send an
email to sales@codeweavers.com explaining what has happened. They'll fix things up
ASAP (when they get back into work on Monday), which will be well inside the expiration
period the demo versions of Crossover are limited to.
Once this hiccup is fixed, you can keep all/any programs installed in the demo version,
and just register the Crossover product as per normal.
All right I guess I'll just have to wait it out a bit. Hopefully it'll all get resolved without issue. Thanks a lot for the advice!
