I just downloaded the trial version of CX. I wanted something that would allow me to run IE on my Mac (running Mac OS X 10.6.7). I installed CX and installed IE8 (and nothing else). When I launch IE8 from CX, the browser comes up but it's stuck "connecting." Is there any way to look at network settings? I looked around but didn't see anything that resembled a Windows Control Panel. Do I need to install Windows XP inside of CX or something to get IE8 to run?
Sorry for the rookie questions.

I've tried to install IE8 from that link. The first time, IE8 started up half cocked, with a partial display and no connection. The second time (in the same bottle) the installation failed. The third time (in the same bottle) the installation apparently succeeded but it started Wine Internet Explorer, not a recognisable IE8.
Although I use Crossover successfully for quite a lot, including Quicken, TaxCalc and Visio, I've never had much luck with Internet Explorer, nor with using CrossTie files.
