Can somebody please help me. I have downloaded Call of Duty World At War 1.5-1.6 patch and its a windows installer. When I try and open it with CrossOver I keep getting this error:

I haven't tested this particular game, but from looking at your post the current problems are:
you're using Crossover "standard". You need to be using Crossover Games.
Looks like you're just double-clicking on the .exe file, which tells Crossover to just "run" the file. Since no bottle as been created yet, it can't do this.
Click on the "install via crosstie" link to download the file and open it in Crossover Games, point to your installer file and then proceed with the install. There's a bit more info in the "forums" section of the above link for this particular game, as well.

installed using the crosstie provided? It also help to known
which version od crossover you are using -- it looks like standard
crossover ... you should be using crossover-games for this...
