CrossOver Support - Community Forums

Hi

I'm new to CrossOver and am just beginning to check out the free demo.

I have a Java app, in the form of a .jar file, that runs very slowly under Mac OS Java and much better under Windows, via VMWare Fusion/XP.

I'd like to be able to ditch VMWare Fusion and run the app(let?) under CrossOver but can't figure out how to do this.
I've installed a Java 6 XP bottle twice by two different methods.

1. I dl'd Java for XP off of Oracles web site and used the CrossOver installer. No probs.
2. I used the "Community Supported" Java 6 installer that came with the CrossOver demo. No probs.

But I have no idea how to tell CrossOver to use its XP Java environment/bottle to run my .jar file.

Can this even be done, and if so, how?

I'm on an Intel iMac running OS 10.6.8.

..I think you have to use the 'Run Command' option for this; select
the bottle you have jre6 installed into, then navigate the the java.exe
file and open it, then in the stringbox containing that command, append
your launch option... ie; java.exe -jar jar-file ... if such works, you
can save the command to your menu items ...
