Update Crossover or Mac OS Lion First?

I am running Crossover 10.1.0 to support Quicken 2011 H&B with Mac OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard).

I want to upgrade my macbook pro to OS Lion. Does it matter whether I update the Mac OS before or after downloading Crossover 10.1.1? Which comes first? Thanks.

It doesn't matter all that much, really. Crossover 10.1.0 is also compatible with Lion. I'd update the OS, first, and then download install the latest version of Crossover:

Afterwards, if you encounter any problems launching Quicken such as the launcher icon bounces a few times on the dock and then disappears, re-set your Programs Menu launchers by going to Configure>Clear and Rebuild Programs Menu. This will re-create the launchers for Quicken, and you can then re-attempt the launch of Quicken from Crossover's Programs menu. This is one of the most common issues with Crossover when upgrading to Lion.

I am running an older version of Crossover to support the Qantas Cabin Crew bidding system. I know newer versions of Crossover won't allow this to work so have kept the older version. We have just upgraded our Mac to Lion and while the crossover icon is still on my desktop, when I double click to open...the icon appears briefly in the dock then disappears.

I cannot open crossover, so cannot access the program. Any suggestions?

Kind regards Scott

Well, you cannot open Crossover because any version prior to 10.1 won't work on Lion, and you're likely using 8.0.3.

I have heard some anecdotal reports that RCIS (which I believe is the program you're talking about) works in Crossover 10.1.1, which is our most recent version.

To test, download and install a trial of Crossover 10.1.1:

then launch Crossover and head to Configure>Clear and Rebuild Programs menu. Click "rebuild". you should then see a finder window or two pop up with RCIS logos inside. Close these windows, and try to launch RCIS from Crossover's Programs menu. Any luck?

Thanks Jack and Scott - I just can't seem to get passed the RCIS wine bottle page - data returned from system...doesn't seem to be able to do it.
