Crossover won't open, X11 issue?

Hi all,

I'm trying to open Crossover, but every time I do it bounces on the dock, I see a window flash up and then it crashes. I had a look at the log file and got the following few lines:

Aug 16 16:46:02 adam-lawrences-macbook-pro [0x0-0x509509].com.codeweavers.CrossOver[13809]: [DRI] disabled direct rendering; requires CoreGraphics 1.157.11

So I'm assuming it's an issue with the library file libX11.6.dylib being the wrong version, or something I'm really not that good with this kind of thing, so simple steps would be preferable if I can get this fixed. At the moment, I'm redownloading Apple's Xcode developer tools, in hope that the X11 files provided will fix this problem. but I'm not sure if it will work.

Thanks!

Something is missing from that guide. I just installed xquartz and I needed to make a symlink for /opt/X11/bin/quartz-wm in /usr/bin.

You're using OS X 10.5, I take it? Did you have to make any other changes/symlinks after installing xquartz other than the above?

I've the same bug on Mac Os Lion.

Our Support Team will have a better time of helping you if you submit a Support Ticket. In that ticket, they will need to know what version of CrossOver you are running, what version of Lion you are on (10.7, 10.7.1, 10.7.2.....) and if you know how to get a console log from when CrossOver is launched, that would be helpful as well.

They will likely ask if you used the migration assistant to move to Lion from an early version of the MacOS.

Being that this particular thread is regarding Leopard, it is possible that there are other factors in Lion keeping CrossOver from running properly.

Please Note: This Forum is for non-application specific questions relating to installation/configuration of CrossOver. All application-specific posts to this Forum will be moved to their appropriate Compatibility Center Forum.
