Crossover Mac Lion

Will the software run with the upgraded Lion software

The current release of CrossOver and CrossOver Games will not. However, we have been working on and testing a version in-house that will run with Lion. We plan to go to beta with that release some time today which means that we will likely have a candidate that is release ready at about the same time Lion is released, assuming it's coming soon.

Cheers!

Hello. Wanted to let you know that yesterday I was referred to Codeweavers (and CrossOver) by an Apple Genius (at the South Coast Plaza store in Costa Mesa, CA). I was lamenting about my "entire life" with Quicken for Mac being on the chopping block with the imminence of Lion. Running the much more robust versions of Windows Quicken through CrossOver could be a lifesaver for me. Can't wait to be a New Customer. Best regards. (Ironically, all Quicken for Mac users got an e-mail from Intuit yesterday explaining the Lion disconnect for all products but Quicken Essentials for Mac.)

Looking forward to a speedy Lion-compatible version release now that Lion GM is out there. I've been running Lion on my Macs since Developer Preview 1 and as a result I've been missing CrossOver.

Looking forward to testing the beta out on Lion as well.
Tried several other solutions in the mean time, but the support on Crossover cannot be matched :)

Where would we be able to find the beta when released?

Regards,
William

Everyone who's signed up to be a beta tester should have already received an email notice. If you'd like to be a beta tester, send an email to info@codeweavers.com. You must either be an advocate or have purchased Crossover already.

unsure how to word this, but i'm curious if lion has any better native pdf output capabilities that crossover can utilize, or will we still be stuck with cups-pdf https://bitbucket.org/codepoet/cups-pdf-for-mac-os-x/wiki/Home? ever since os x didn't allow adobe to create its own pdf output printer object, there has been some binary conversion weirdness going on using cups-pdf. was hoping at some point os x might include the ability to create its own native pdf printer output device.

Since Apple just announced Lion will be out tomorrow, will Codeweavers be ready with a Lion compatible version of Mac and Games?

Thanks.

I upgraded to Lion, and when I try to run crossover it comes up with a message that stays on screen for 2 secs, then close the program. The message says something about upgrade. Does anyone else get this? I have some programs I need that run off crossover. I tried to redownload crossover but that still didn't work. Does anyone have any idea when the next crossover that will work with Lion be out? Thanks a million.

Crossover Standard/Pro 10.1 and Games 10.1.1 have been released, featuring Lion compatibility. You'll find these in your My Account>My Downloads section on our website if your license is current:

http://www.codeweavers.com/account/downloads/

For trial users - the current publicly available trial always reflects the most current release, i.e. the current trials are for CX Standard 10.1 and CX games 10.1.1.

When I go to my downloads I only see 10.0.3, where can I download the version which will be compatible with Lion?

Try this link http://www.codeweavers.com/account/downloads/ and then register it, to allow you to use it permanently

It doesn't work for me neither..

All I see is the following:
CrossOver Mac Standard 9.0.1

Is the Lion compatible version located elsewhere?
I upgraded Lion without verifying that the Lion compatible version was available.
If not available, please give a date on availability.

Hi,

If you go to the link Anthony provided above and you do not
see the latest releases, there's a good chance that's because
your Crossover license period has expired. If this is the case,
you will need to renew/buy another Crossover licensing period
to get the latest 10.1.1 releases.

Cheers!

I had downloaded the latest demo version, but since my "unsupported" software that did work on the prior version is not working now I was thinking that this may not have been the Lion compatible version. I would pay for it if my software would work. It's a shame I find this out a bit too late. I will run my software on Fusion till/if a future version gets supported.

Yesterday I upgraded my machine to lion and today I noticed that crossover office (games and standard) doesn't work. So, I downloaded the latest cxoffice, 10.1.0, and when I tried to install it, I receive the following messages:

1) "do you want to replace the old version or keep it as a copy?" I chose to to replace...
2) "the action could not be completed because wineloader is in use"

Any ideas?

(yup, I'm new with Mac)

Restart. That's what I had to do.

assuming you were not already running the crossover app at the time you were trying to upgrade it, sometimes you can try to re-copy again and it will work. i think finder will sometimes give a false positive or be still getting information on the app bundle to replace. happens to me quite frequently with graphic converter for some reason.

another workaround is to manually delete the old app bundle and then copy the new app bundle into /applications.

"Wineloaders" are the background processes that run with Crossover, and at times they can get "stuck". If you don't feel like/can't reboot your Mac (which will solve the problem), you can open up an activity monitor and manually kill the "wineloader" and "wineserver" processes that you find.
