Every time I reboot, I get a window saying:

"CrossOver CD Helper.app" is an
application downloaded from the Internet.
Are you sure you want to open it?

I suspect the problem may be because it isn't in my Applications directory, or that my user doesn't have administrative privileges.

How can I make sure this problem doesn't occur every time that app is upgraded? Do I need to give myself administrative privileges and reboot to get rid of this message?

When Crossover installs it adds this CD Helper app to your Login Items (System Preferences>Accounts) so when a Windows disc is inserted Crossover will pop up and offer to install whatever's on the disc.

In this case your account probably isn't set as an administrator on your machine and so you Ok'ing it to open can't change the permissions bit check on the app to mark it as Ok to open automatically each time. This causes the prompt to appear each time at bootup.

The workaround is to open Crossover, go to Crossover Preferences, and under System Integration click Removable volume behavior to Ignore CD and DVD insertion. This will remove the Crossover CD Helper from your Login Items so it'll stop asking if it's ok to open.
