Dumb 10.2 Upgrade Question

Sorry for the dumb question --

I'm running Crossover 10.1.1 under Snow Leopard with a bottle for Quicken 2012 (which works, despite the fact that the compatibility page here says that it doesn't). I'm about to upgrade to Crossover 10.2.

Is there anything I need to do in order to preserve the Quicken bottle? Will all that installed goodness remain, or will I have to reinstall Quicken?

Thanks to anybody who can help --
Steve

Hi....

..in MacOS you can actually install multiple versions
of crossover concurrently, if you so choose...

http://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/mac/faq/cxmacmultiplecopies

..in context of your question however - yes, typically
the upgrade and replace with newest scenario works
fine, however, it is always advised that you create a
backup of your working bottles (cxarchives), just in
case something does go wrong - it's easy to return to
your original situation if you have these backups and
without them there is little or no recourse (the install
of the new crossover version may change a pre-existing
bottle's setup)...see 'Make Archve' on this page;

Cheers!

First, no question should be considered dumb if you do not know the answer and you are seriously looking for one!

We do not run Quicken, but we just upgraded 2 macbook pros to the new release, and all bottles appear to have upgraded well, with no issues.

That said, of course, be sure to back up your current files first, which goes without saying!

Good luck.

Many thanks for the detailed help, Don & Barry -- I will do it and I will back up first.

Steve

Just in case this link is needed - an example of the normal upgrade process:

The upgrade went without a hitch, overwriting the old version. I archived my bottle, but it wasn't needed. When crossover first ran, it told me that it was upgrading some files, but whatever it did worked fine.

Thanks again,
Steve
