I downloaded and installed Dragon Saga on my Windows laptop. (The download was quite big like 3GB or something)
Can I just transfer (cut and paste) this 3GB game folder (which has like 1000 other files inside and several sub-folders) to an external drive, then move the whole folder (cut and pasting) into the Applications folder on my Mac, and then get Crossover to run the whole folder?
I'm going to need step by step advice because I'm completely new to Crossover. (and even quite new to Macs)
However I don't know if this will be much use. I tried installing and running Dragon Saga and got it to start after much frustration, however I couldn't get past the login screen. Seems that other people have seen the same with the wine AppDB entry.
... probably 'gameguard' or 'hackshield' is what you're seeing
(the latter here iirc) ; copying the files from a windows install
won't work -- both anti-cheat systems are 'rootkits' and don't
work in wine - you can search winehq bugzilla for these things,
and then understand the bugs won't be fixed soon (if ever)...
