I have recently upgraded to the lastest version of Crossover for Mac on my Mac Mini (Late 2011, 6GB Ram). I reinstalled Steam and all games I wish to play. However, only the Steam application is featured on the Crossover Programs List and only the Steam application has a shortcut in the Crossover Applications folder.
I have requested that desktop shortcuts be made within the Steam application (right click game> 'Create Desktop Shortcut'), but to no avail. How can I make some shortcuts myself?
What is odd is that Crossover recognises that the games are installed within the Steam bottle - it's listed in the bottle application list.
Try tossing (your home folder)/Applications and in Crossover's Configure menu pick Clear and Rebuild Menu Items and see if that regenerates app icons for your games. Otherwise you could try using Run Command http://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/mac/mactutorial/run_only and Save Command to Programs Menu to create an app icon for your program.
If the programs are showing up on your Programs list they have links at ~/Applications/CrossOver you can then alias those to wherever you need them (desktop).
If they are not there, try rebuilding the menu from the Configure>Clear and Rebuild Programs Menu... option.
If you're going to trash (toss) the folder that Andrew recommended make sure it's the ~/Applications/CrossOver folder only. You don't need to trash anything else.
One more thing under Manage Bottles dialog>Control Panel there may be an option to change icons (at least in Linux there is) -- See if the desktop icons you generated are selected there otherwise they might not show up.
Please Note: This Forum is for non-application specific questions relating to installation/configuration of CrossOver. All application-specific posts to this Forum will be moved to their appropriate Compatibility Center Forum.
