I successfully installed Nancy Drew: Creature of the Kapu Cave or something like that without a hitch on my Mac. (This is a PC Game) However when i go through finder and go to Applications - CrossOver - Nancy Drew - The Creature of the Kapu Cave - Play Game it first fires up gives me a enlarged cursor and a black screen as if it's setting up and then the application closes. Any help you guys? Please post something I really want to play my old PC games from earlier on my Mac? Please post! 😇

Try installing the game into a Win98 bottle with the following software and report your results:
Which version do you have? Is it from Steam? Is it a CD?
I just tested a demo of the application and it seemed to work. However the graphics were corrupt. The game needed to be run in virtual desktop mode. This can be done via the following:
Click on Configure -> Manage Bottles
Select the correct game bottle from the list
Click on the Control Panel tab and start the Wine Configuration
On the Graphics tab select "Emulate a virtual desktop" and click OK
If that doesn't work, could you please post the last few entries from your log. A log can created by following the steps posted here:
Where do I find that software and what do u mean by install these
only if the others don't help?
CrossOver XI -> Manage Bottles -> Your desired bottle name -> Applications-> Install Software...
I put *s next to applications that you should install only if the other applications don't help. You don't want to install applications you don't need as it is just a waste of disk space.
I have Crossover 8. It's not from Steam. It's a physical copy. (CD) Can someone give me a step-by-step tutorial of installing and playing this game on my version of Crossover on Mac? Thanks a bunch. 😇

... you are 'so far in the past' with crossover 8, it's going to
be difficult to advise you -- for a start, it is likely the case
that crossover-games 8.x (not just crossover 8.x) may be needed
to run this title. Seeing as you do have such an old version of
crossover, probably my next question would be what version of MacOS?...
...and what hardware..at any rate, the demo of the game runs fine
in crossover 11 on linux, nothing special required at all. I did
enable emulated virtual desktop as mentioned above...
..depending on which model Mac you have, and exactly which version
of MacOS you have, probably dictates what to do next...but.. if you
are using MacOS 10.6.x or newer already, I'd recommend trying crossover
11 (trial version) instead, and forget about crossover 8 for now...
Just to add to the previous comment, I've confirmed that the demo works fine (in virtual desktop mode only) on OS X 10.7.3 with CrossOver 11.0.2.
