CSE HTML Validator v11.02

I am trying to get this application to recognize the capability to connect to the Internet. Any advice on configuring crossover to allow its apps to access the internet? Is there a way to check for connectivity from the app bottle?

Thanks,
Rob

I am able to get webpage lookup working by installing IE7 into the same bottle. The check for upgrades feature still does not work.

I have found that https:// sites have a problem loading consistently. Is there any crossover (wine) configuration settings which may help to consistently load pages via port 443? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

I don't think the problem is with Crossover or Wine. I have a Firefox install in a bottle, and it can load https sites just a quickly as the native version. I didn't do anything special for that either, it just works.

In your earlier posts, you mentionned IE7, and that software is rated "bronze" (http://www.codeweavers.fr/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=10162) which is just a notch over not running at all. That is the most credible reason why your https sites load badly. If your software depends on a barely fonctionnal IE, it's all but obvious that's the problem.

I see there is a demo of CSE HTML, so I'll see what I can do with it. I'm under Linux myself, but if it boils down to adding something to the bottle, it would translate well on the Mac.

I tried reinstalling into a win vista bottle and HTML Validator only. No IE7 install. The same problem when loading HTTPS sites. Sometimes it works and most times it does not. Could there be an incompatibility in the libraries being used to access the HTTP and HTTPS sites?

Thanks,
Rob

What type of failure do you get? Simply nothing loads, or some type of error message?
