Halo CE : Cannot Allocate Memory Error

So as of... Not sure which build of Crossover Games... Halo Custom Edition has quit working. It installs and everything but when one tries to launch the app we get an error stating that "Halo cannot allocate required memory" or something and that "memory may be getting used by other thingy." I did not make this a ticket because it really isn't a game that anyone needs running. I just found it curious

-Keo

i had the same issue! Some people said it was an error with Internet Explorer but i removed that and it still didn't work so idk lol 😥

I really want to play this game on my mac. Anyone found a way to make it work?

Hi,

Perhaps Keo was being a little too presumptuous when saying
"it really isn't a game that anyone needs running" ? 8)

This app actually has it's own C4 page as well....see;

http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=5759

Going by that, this app was working on Mac back at CXG-7.2.0, got
worse in linux by 8.0 and now is seemingly broken altogether as of
8.1.4 ...a woeful tail of regression it seems. However, going by the
wineHQ entry for this app, it needs msxml4 ...see;

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=7906

That package is available in the 'Runtime Support Components' area of
the cxinstaller GUI -- could you please try installing that package into
the same bottle as Halo:CE and trying to run it again? Let me know how
it goes...good or bad....there's other thing we can try yet, but we'll go
with the 'obvious' candidate first 8)

Cheers!

No dice. Couldn't find an actual way to "instal" in the runtime gui so i just dropped the file into the system32... didn't work... where is the cxinstaller in the runtime gui? I dont see it.

Hi,

When you click on 'Install software', the GUI that pops up is cxinstaller's frontend.
The 'main' GUI (Manage Bottles) it cxsetup's frontend GUI.

Cheers!
