What do the advanced settings do?

Hi, I have no idea what the advanced settings do and when I should enable them, I'm talking about D3DMetal, DXVK, ESync, MSync, can someone explain to me? Thanks in advance

If you installed an app in Crossover using a Crosstie, don't worry about it too much. The Crosstie will set your "Advanced Settings" in the way that is best for that application.

Crossover uses wined3d by default. D3DMetal and DXVK are alternatives to wined3d. Only one can be active. All are methods of converting DirectX instructions. In many cases, a game will run better using DXVK than wined3d; in some cases the opposite is true. D3DMetal is only available for Macs with Apple CPUs, it cannot be enabled for Macs with Intel CPUs. In many (but again, not all) cases, D3DMetal is the best choice for modern Windows games in Crossover.

ESync and MSync are thread synchronization methods. In some cases one of them will make games (and other applications) run better, in other cases worse.

High Resolution Mode is really not useful in MacOS, it's more for Chromebook and Linux users. Generally speaking, it will force an application to attempt to use the full native resolution of your monitor. On a Mac, this is – rarely – useful with some very old games with poor resolution control but more often will make a Windows application appear in a corner of your screen and be more-or-less unusable in that state.

You can experiment with different settings without damaging anything. If one setting or another makes your game fail to run or run worse, just quit out of the game and put the setting back the way it was. If you decide to experiment, make one change at a time, test to be sure it is actually improving things for you, and only then try another setting change.

Ok, thanks for the explanation
