Hi. I'm on a MBP M1 Monterey 12.2.1 and just purchased and downloaded CrossOver to be able to play Skyrim. Downloading CrossOver itself was no issue, but whenever I go to download/install a bottle I'm met with:
The 'Creating the Steam bottle' task failed.
"cxbottle:error: unable to create the 'Steam' bottle in '/Users/__/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/Steam'
Continuing with the install may produce unpredictable results." (name taken out)
And gives me three options: cancel installation, try again, or skip step. All these options, weirdly enough, result in a Steam "bottle" still seeming to appear. However, it's stuck on 'scanning for dependencies' which means no further applications can be installed in it and I'm assuming this is the aforementioned "unpredictable results."
I've been in contact with CrossOver support, but nothing has worked so far. I have ample space (60+ GBs), no AV or file clearing programming, no private relay activated, no privacy and security settings disallowing this application, no firewall interference (have tried installing CrossOvera on different networks) and updated my laptop. I've allowed access on every file/pathway I can think of in my Library, as well as creating a new user on my computer and re-installing with it.
I'd very much like for CrossOver to work for me, as I've heard it's the best for what I need. However, if there isn't a solution, I was also wondering if it's possible to get a refund or reimbursement of the CAD$100 I dished out. Does Crossover do this?
Grateful for any advice or help I can receive!
