When trying to install a game via steam it always says "not enough memory" - bute there is more than enough

I am on Mac sonoma on a Macbook Air 15" M2.
Systeminformation tells me that there are more than 200GB free diskspace, but when I try to downlad a 33GB-Game from Steam it says that on local drive C: there is only 26GB free diskspace. Do you know how I can change the size of this - I guess virtuell - diskspace?
