I'm trying to install perspective, but just running the installer than launching the bottle causes perspective to crash on startup. Running perspective in normal wine says that it's missing d3d11.dll. I tried installing directx 11 via the normal installer, but the installer fails.
Perspective comes with a d3dx11_43.dll that I've tried copying to system32 with the name d3d11.dll, but it still couldn't find the file.
Any tips?
Unfortunately you won't be able to install Microsoft's d3d11 in CrossOver. d3d11 applications will not work until we finish our d3d11 to opengl wrapper.
Microsoft's d3d11.dll is mostly a wrapper around the Windows Kernel's d3d interface, which in turn calls the d3d interface of the Windows graphics driver. There's no way to get the Windows graphics driver working on OSX or Linux because ultimately the OSX or Linux graphics driver occupies the GPU(and a lot of other reasons like CrossOver not having a Windows OS kernel). Our d3d implementation transforms d3d calls to opengl, which are then passed to the OSX or Linux graphics system.
