However, I just checked my license on my profile, and it says that I have a valid license until November of this year. Do I need to reinstall Crossover, or is it a server communication error?

This is a bug which is hitting several customers. We have a fix in the works and it should be out later this month.
For now, you can resolve the issue by deleting the following two files from the Library/Preferences folder in your home directory:
~/Library/Preferences/com.codeweavers.CrossOver.license
~/Library/Preferences/com.codeweavers.CrossOver.sig
and re-starting CrossOver.
I'm sorry about the bug - errors in our licensing stuff are always bad. If deleting those files does not resolve the problem for you, please open a support ticket and we'll figure out what is going on.
Best,
Josh.
Cleared it right up, thanks!
You Codeweavers guys better fix this right up though, since I paid for this software and it says it expires on 01/01/2014. What?!?
If this is true, I will not endorse it to any of my Mac (or Linux) friends. Looks like it's crippleware.
I have some very very bad experiences with so-called time-limited and crippled software which sooner or later, for whatever reason, refuses to run. This is not old-time shareware, when I paid for it I expect it to run indefinitely (excepting updates of course).

At what point does it say it expires on 1/1/2014? If you have a paid license, unless you are seeing a bug (such as the one mentioned above), you should not be seeing any message about expiration. Nor should CrossOver expire.
We have a fix for the bug above which is in beta now and which we expect to be out soon. For the time being, the above fix appears to be working for most customers with the problem.
CrossOver is not ever intended to expire once you have purchased it.
hi, can you guys please help me how to set up CrossOver Mac for mac book air

It says so in the com.Codeweavers.CrossOver.license. First it gives my id number, then my name, then my email adress, and then it says 'expires=2014/01/01'.

That's good to hear, but you could've fooled me with that 'expires' message ;)

Ah, right. The license file has an expiration date, certainly. I was worried CrossOver itself was somehow telling you that, e.g., when you tried to run something. (Which, that would be a big surprise.)
The 'expiration' date reflects the fact that your license will, yes, expire on that date, but that does not mean CrossOver will stop working. What it means is that, presuming you don't extend your license between now and then, you are entiteld to any version of CrossOver which we release prior to January 1, 2014. So, if we release on 12/31/2013 (I'm not saying we have a release planned for new year's eve, I just mean for instance), then your current license will entitle you to run that, and run it forever. However, as things stand now, if we release a version on 1/2/2014, and you want to run that one, you'll have to buy an upgrade.

Ok, thanks - I understand the situation now. Maybe the expression should be changed into 'expiration for updates=' or something similar to clarify. Now it just says expiration, period. (Like I said above it's ok to charge for major updates, but that's not quite what it said... quite a bit different of course)
