Well its installed BUT it looks exactly the same as when I used the free wrapper some-one made for this game.
The graphics are terrible and I tried to reduce everything to low too.
I play tons of games on MAC OS both new and old such as The Sims 3 and my graphics are spot on but when trying to run Tropico 4 on my MAC OS the graphics are terrible.
So I give up! ;)
It was worth a shot.
Ok...just looked at the graphic card requirements for the WIndows OS DVD of Tropico 4 Gold and the box says "256 MB Ram Graphics Card' which is exactly what I have, but it's on my iMac.
So, if I used Bootcamp and loaded Windows...I am assuming it would look fine.
Strange!
What graphics card does your mac have?
You're probably running into a bug in CrossOver or the OSX graphics drivers. With boot camp things would look fine most likely because that way you run Windows and the Windows drivers the game devs wrote the game for.

Hi
Thanks for replying .
I would rather NOT use Bootcamp, obviously, that's why I am trying to find a middle ware solution that is less inconvenient if I can get Crossover to allow me to run this game with half descent graphics...I would buy it in a heart beat! So any advise would be appreciated :)

Bump
I really just want some guidance on how to fix any bugs in the bottle that can improve the graphics.
If it can't be fixed I am on the cusp of buying a WIndows based laptop off eBay but if I can be fixed YAY I will buy this neat subscription.
I have written to the email address you instructed me to do when the welcome email arrived but as yet no one has replied.
Anyone?

Hi,if you don't want to use bootcamp try Virtual Box,it's free, will run windows without bootcamp.Worth a shot I think. Cheers Mike
VirtualBox is NOT the solution for games. Although there is some 3d support, performance is low, and that is when it actually works. So when it comes to games, where frames per second count, virtualbox isn't near anything good.
Elizabeth,
This looks like a depth testing related issue. Either the depth buffer content is broken, or the polygon offset does not work correctly. I'm afraid there is no setting in CrossOver you can use to fix this. It's something we have to look at. It's a lot of work though - we'll have to try to reproduce the bug locally, figure out what's wrong, file a bug with Apple if it's a bug in their driver and get them to fix it and/or find a workaround. I'm afraid in the short run you'll have to look for another solution to run this game.

Elizabeth, have you tried running the game on medium or high graphical settings? I experienced very similar graphical corruption to you but only on the lowest settings, it looked a lot better when I changed it to medium.
