Hello

I have a Windows-only program I'd like to run. It's delivered in a ZIP file with a simple hierarchy of files that include the program itself (.exe) and various DLLs and support files, rather than an actual installer.

I've tried things like creating an empty bottle and copying the files over and using the "Run Command" feature but that generates an error 53.

Does anyone have any tips for situations like this?

It my be that your app will not run under CX. What I do with a none installable file is to unzip to a folder place folder in the Programs Folder of an empty bottle an run the exe from the Run Command. You can make a launcher by selecting create launcher check box. Do you know if the app requires an dependencies if so install them into the same bottle.

Looks like there's a USB driver in my support files too that needs to be installed, so I'm guessing this isn't going to work in CX.

USB devices are a problem more often then not, aside from printers and scanner. There is a tutorial here, in case you want to try it.

Honestly, I have a USB ODB II, for reading troubleshooting codes off cars, and it never worked with Crossover, so I wouldn't keep my hopes up if I were you.
