Jumbled Screen but Games run in the background/ can't create a windowed version

So I'm having a really strange issue, I'm using the new crossover on Mavericks, and on Macbook Air. The games I'm playing, are Medieval Total War 2 and kingdoms, and such. The launcher works, and the game is clearly running fine in the background. The issue is once you get past the launcher, the screen gets all jumbled and the cinematic works in the bottom right corner, but the main menu looks to be a mess and doesn't work. I've tried to launch the virtual desktop and changing the display preferences on the computer, neither seemed to work.

The weird thing is I know all the same settings and tricks though work successfully on an old macbook that is 6 years old without mavericks, also know that they all work on mavericks on a macbook pro retinal. The weird part though is I was at my friends house and we wanted to watch a battle on the TV using Airplay from the mac pro, when I activate the airplay, and then enter the program, it does the same issue as the macbook air, the screen looks identical in every way. If I open the program and then command tab (which is the only shortcut that works on any of the macs) into opening air play, then the mac pro works fine.

So I was wondering how I can get the Macbook Air to work, it just seems so strange that the screen is jumbled like that, looks like its just an issue with the display settings, I just can't find a method to make it work.
