How to add a TrueType font for use by Windows apps under CrossOver

Hello,

CrossOver 13.0 running under Mavericks.

The Windows apps installed under CrossOver include most of the fonts installed in Mavericks except for one that I need to be able to use.

I've converted it from dfont to TrueType format.

After adding the TTF to the Fonts folder in the bottle's drive_c folder, the Windows apps still do not include the TrueType font.

What do I need to do differently so that this font is available for use in the Windows apps under CrossOver?

Many thanks in advance!

If you need to install msttf in a crossover bottle from crossover select manage bottle tab and select your bottle then the Applications tab and click Install Software scroll down to Runtime Support Components you will find fonts there.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your reply.

I've already tried that before posting this thread.

The only relevant options are "Core Fonts," and individual fonts (e.g., "TrueType font: Arial."

As mentioned in my original posting, I'm trying to add a different font that is not a core one and is not listed individually.

I do not see an option such as "TrueType font: other" in the list.

Any other suggestions?

What font are you trying to install and does it have an exe installer

Thanks for your reply.

As mentioned previously, it began as a Macintosh dfont file which Windows apps running under CrossOver on my Mac do not recognize.

I converted the dfont file to TTF using FontForge; same symptom.

No, no .exe.

OK total blunder on my part try this link http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CDEQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.codeweavers.com%2Fsupport%2Fwiki%2Flinux%2Ffaq%2Fcxofficereregisterfonts&ei=KQTGUrGdO8_lsATq2oGoDQ&usg=AFQjCNGlpyfG0ia6UAl6WxsgXBJhGjIbmQ&bvm=bv.58187178,d.cWc&cad=rja
I'm shore some one smarter than me can translate to mac code.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for taking time to reply.

My original posting is this thread says

"After adding the TTF to the Fonts folder in the bottle's drive_c folder, the Windows apps still do not include the TrueType font."

So I've already done what your linked posting recommended, and the problem persisted.

BTW: I cannot find a "cxoffice" folder or hidden ".cxoffice" folder in CrossOver 13's installation on my Mac. And although the cxinstallfonts.exe does exist on my Mac, it is a 1 KB file that, after double-clicking, does nothing.

That posting's date stamp is "Last modified on 2010-08-03 14," so it pertains to an older version of CrossOver than 13 (which is what I'm using) and the folder structure might have changed since then.

Unless you have a definitive fix, I'll submit a ticket to tech support and will post the outcome in this thread.

Thanks again for your helpfulness and cheers!

Barry

Hi Barry
Sorry I can't be more help I'm a linux user not mac. However the correct way to install an exe file is to go to manage bottles highlight your bottle click the Run Command button use the browse button to find the exe and then click Run. You can make a launcher by clicking the Launchers button.
