id Software has discontinued Quake Live via browser plugins and moved to a standalone app. Unfortunately, because they can't afford or won't hire Linux or Mac devs, the standalone player will be Windows-only.
I would rather not use Bootcamp to play Quake Live so I'm curious if Crossover supports or will support Quake Live under OS X.
We don't currently have any plans to work on that, but it's possible that the plugin will work with CrossOver's builtin IE replacement (which can be accessed by installing http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=9545 ) or some MS version of Internet Explorer. I'm not sure if download/install of plugins is implemented yet, so it may be necessary to manually download and install it.
Create a new WinXP bottle, install in it .NET 3.5 SP1 and VC++ 2010 then run the QuakeLiveSetup executable. It should run. Works for me on Ubuntu
Quake Live is already listed, the crosstie is done and online.
