Further issues with Strat-o-matic Baseball

This is a continuation of my prior thread.

I'm seeing progress on my Stra-o-matic 2012 installation in CrossOver, but it's not quite there yet.

The game has a serial number verification step, where it asks for the serial number, and then verifies that number with a server somewhere.

The verification step is failing, with an error message from the application. According to the vendor, the error I'm getting means the following:

Mike,

Web activation error is usually a communication error. This usually means there is no active internet connection or the connection is being blocked and the authorization information cannot transfer between your computer and our servers.

If your connection is active usually this means that a firewall/security program is set too strict and is blocking the authorization module. The easiest workaround is to temporarily turn off or disable your firewall/security program, complete the authorization process then restart your computer to turn all your background programs back on.

Does CrossOver have some limitation on wireless access to a local LAN to access the internet?

The debug log display the following:

Is that all of the log? I don't see anything related to accessing the network

That's the entire log. This log encompasses the events:
Launch the app
App displays pop up window for serial
enter serial and click pop up closed
after several seconds another different pop up displays error message which vendor explains is the "no internet access " error
user clicks quit
app terminates

From the above errors I would actually guess the application is missing this:

http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=1543

But it may be that more is missing than that.

Do they offer NFR copies or a demo?
