I'm trying to install Loki, a crafting tool for a game called Dark Age of Camelot.
I'm not getting very far.. even the install itself errors out.. Windows XP bottle, .Net 2 and 3.5 installed, MDAC 2.8 and Jet 2.0 as I'm sure it uses database runtimes.. but it doesn't even get to starting to install, so not sure thats the issue.
it's in a .msi format.. They author took down his site, so won't get much support from that point..
I have the demo/trial available from my dropbox account if someone is daring and wants to see if they can figure it out.. it's a small app.. 14mb..
Granted like I said I did it on linux. But I did nothing special with the bottle. Basic windows xp bottle with nothing extra installed to it. Then I ran it as an "other application" and navigated to the installer. I did have to hit the drop down and make sure it was on I believe windows installer package so it could see the .msi in the explorer dialog. Then it installed without a hitch and ran just fine. I'm not versed in the mac version of crossover so I can't be much help when it comes to mac specific problems. Someone else should see this and pick up where I left off. This community is really good about that.
Ok, this is the error I'm getting when trying to install. The
installer IS there.. I'm not sure why it keeps saying that..
/confused.
Okay, I was really hoping for a very present and reproducible issue... but this works for me on Mac and Linux systems.
Where do you have the installer file on your system? I kind of think if your installer was on say... your Mac desktop, you'd have no trouble at all installing it. Like Donny, I didn't need any additional packages.
Also, it doesn't seem like you're using the same installer file as what you uploaded to dropbox.
