Hi,
Well, clearly your attitude displays one of impatience borne upon
disappointment, and this has blinded you to a common courtesy of not
swearing when in mixed/unknown company...ie; there are young children
who read these forums -- their parents will tell them you're one of
those 'bad' people who use 'foul' language -- kudos, hope you feel
good about that....
Civ V is an officially supported product -- if you actually bought
Crossover Games and were/are having trouble running it, you have the
support entitlement to email Codeweavers directly for help...have you
done this? I'll probably guess not, as neither do I see any posts to
either app's forums from yourself asking for help. Which is unfortunate,
because that's the way it works around here -- software is complex
stuff anyhow, and what we're trying to do with software adds another
level of complexity again. It is presumed that people who don't ask
questions, know exactly what they are doing, how complex software can
be, and really don't need any help...elsewise, they'd ask questions.
So....basically your little rant, is you screaming at your reflection
in the mirror, because you don't know how to ask for help - that's
fine, try again by posting questions to the forums involved and who
knows, someone may be able to help you....
...Just Cause 2 being reranked I know about ; it was I that asked for
a review of that entry. Best as we can figure out, the Gold medal was
awarded to the non-Steam release of the title -- the Steam based release
may have never worked in Crossover...or...a subsequent update to the
title to include the Windows Games Management API might have something
to do with it. In any event, and after getting one of our Ninjas to check
things, the position of 'known not to work' was established for the game
release against Crossover Games 9.2 --- the previous Gold medal ranking
was against Crossover Games 9.1, and the 'current' medal ranking is always
a reflection of the 'current' Crossover release....
...the person who ranked Just Cause 2 with a Gold medal may return one day,
perhaps tomorrow or perhaps never, and they might retest whatever version of
the game it is they have and submit a gold medal again wrt Crossover Games
9.2 and then the overall ranking will likely change to silver...whatever,
the point is medal rankings continually move based on Crossover or game
updates (especially where Steam is concerned) - these thing are beyond the
control of anyone really, and necessarily need be addressed retrospectively.
You...enjoy your PC!...me, I'll just keep playing my 250+ games on both my
iMac and linux machines via Crossover, and of course answering folks postings
to the forum here....
Cheers!
