I recently bought a new laptop running Ubuntu 8.04. I installed Microsoft Office XP, but when I try to run any of the installed applications the dialog box below appears:
With Word and Excel, clicking the Debug button shuts down the application; with PowerPoint, I can actually use the app after clicking Debug.
I had Crossover Linux and Office XP installed on my old laptop. The main differences are that the old laptop ran Xubuntu 8.04, and the new laptop has a 64-bit Core 2 Duo processor (the old one had a 32-bit processor).
OK, looks like the problem was solved with the installation of version 7.02.
And apologies for the accidental post to the Mac forum ... it was getting late and obviously I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing.
